HSLAB Modem Monitor v.3.1.1 Modem Monitor is a program for monitoring a status and performance of the remote(or local) modem. The program is intended for using in networks, connected to Internet through phone line(modem). Internet Monitor's aim is to evaluate, describe, and summarize the means, mechanisms, and extent of Internet content controls and Internet activity around the world. The project helps researchers, advocates, policymakers, and user communities understand trends in Internet health and activity through research, analysis, and data visualization. PC Monitor Cables. With this real-time data we identify the global regions targeted by the greatest web attack traffic, cities with the slowest web connections (latency) and geographic areas with the most web traffic (traffic density). From AGG Software: Modem Monitor is a program for monitoring a status and performance of the remote (or local) modem or any network interface. Modem Monitor is a unique in industry program, which allows to monitor not only per-connection statistics. It allows to monitor physical modems separately. Am using Comcast Internet Service and facing outage sometimes. I need to know the outage time exactly. My spouse uses Internet connection on different devices, so I can't run a program on Single PC and keep it on forever. Am looking for options to monitor within my cable modem/router. Am using Motorola SBG6580 Gateway (Cable Modem with Wireless Router). Is there anyway I can configure my Modem/Gateway to monitor my Internet connection status 24/7? Thanks, Venkatesh R Edited Jul 14, 2014 at 21:01 UTC. What I would do, first, is check to see if your router supports dynamic DNS. If it does, register a name and then set it up so that your DNS name is always updated automatically. If that's too complicated, you can simply put your public address in to be monitored at UptimeRobot, which will ping your IP address every 5 minutes. If you go offline (router fails, modem fails, service outage) then it will send you an e-mail or text and log it. The only problem is that if your IP address changes, the service won't work, which is why I suggest that you setup a free hostname and enter the settings under Dynamic DNS in your router (but not all routers support this). If your budget allows I would lose the ISR and just get a cheap modem and set it as a layer 2 bridge. Then you can use whatever router you want, including one that has more advanced capabilities or the ability to run DD-WRT. I have had great success with DD-WRT as far as increased uptime, lower latency, etc etc. DD-WRT can log what you're looking for as well and I'd recommend you set a watchdog for automatic reboot after a set disconnection time. I usually set automatic reboot after being unable to reach 8.8.8.8 after 5 min.
